Type of Course:
Celebrate the end of the week in style with a menu and techniques translated and taught in French by Delphine Recalde.
Unwind after a week at work with drinks, dinner & conversation with a difference. Friday at 7pm at Truro School Cookery means a cold beer or cocktail, a two course meal with a matched glass of wine and the chance to try your hand at a classic culinary skill.
This week we have the wonderful Delphine Recalde, who was born in south west France and has lived in Cornwall for over ten years. She runs regular French conversation classes across Cornwall, and offers private tuition to individuals, students and businesses. As we cook and teach the dishes, the lovely Delphine will talk and translate everything into French so you can understand not only the teachniques, but also the language. We even include the recipe cards in both French and English so you can recreate the menu and learn the correct written translations at home.
· Hake en papillote with fennel, orange and sundried tomatoes
· Classic crêpes suzette
Drinks are served from 7pm be it a cold beer or a classy cocktail. At around 7:30pm Chef and Delphine will demonstrate the skill of the week in both French and English – be it how to panfry the perfect sirloin, roll the silkiest pasta or steam the tastiest moules, then its over to you to have a go. For £25 per person we add accompaniments, desserts or cheese and a matched glass of wine. We even do the washing up! What’s not to like?
