Truro Cookery School was thrilled to host a group of young people from all across Cornwall during the half-term break. Organised by Kernow Young Carers, this event provided an opportunity for around 20 children to participate in a cookery workshop and meet and bond with peers facing similar challenges.
These young carers embarked on a culinary journey, learning how to make pizza from scratch. They mastered the art of preparing a yeast-based dough, cooking up a herby tomato sauce, and selecting their own toppings, which ranged from fiery jalapeno chillies to sweet ham and pineapple, all topped with a generous amount of stringy mozzarella.
The young chefs then baked and decorated their own cupcakes in the afternoon session.
A big thank you to the cookery team for making the day fun and engaging, and well done to all these wonderful children who joined in the activities with great enthusiasm, showcasing some excellent culinary skills and creating some delicious dishes to share at home with their families.
