Feast for Four

Join us for a few stories and celebrate the Isles of Scilly where you learn to prepare our pop-up menu from the Hell Bay Hotel on Bryher. The menu was all designed using only locally sourced, seasonal ingredients. Learn how to prep different ingredients, explore new techniques and  also make your own pasta.

We call it our Cookery Spa Day – a bit of ‘you time’ to learn some new skills whilst you spend a day preparing a delicious feast to take home for your family or friends. By mid-afternoon you will have prepared a ‘feast for four’ which we will package up with all the final garnishes as well as a bottle of wine or a handful of beers. All you have to do when you get home is put your feet up, have an aperitif before you assemble your dishes and show off your culinary expertise. The ultimate supper party made easy.

Asparagus with local crab, spinach and shellfish reduction

Slow roasted onion and garlic foccia

Seafood linguine with white wine, garlic and chilli and a big handful of fresh herbs

Coffee and clotted cream fudge tiramisu

Plus a bottle of wine from St Austell Brewery to wash it all down.


How the day goes….

On arrival at Truro School Cookery at 9.45am you will be greeted with an Origin coffee and some breakfast from Aj’s famous grazing table. At 10am you will don your apron and gather around our large teaching island. Your cookery teacher will demonstrate the first dish of the day, with overhead cameras capturing the finer details. Now is time for some hands-on cooking, as you head to your fully equipped cooking bay where trays of pre prepared ingredients will be waiting. Cooking will commence, with your teacher pausing the class at convenient times to demonstrate a technique, or the next dish.

At around 3:30pm we will pop open a bottle of something delicious whilst we show you how to plate and finish the final dishes before you head home with everything you need for your own ‘feast for four’.

Refreshments are provided throughout the day and Aj’s grazing table will be constantly stocked up with delicious snacks for you to enjoy. Aprons, tea towels and recipe cards are provided as well as all ingredients and takeaway boxes.

However, please feel free to help us reduce packaging waste by bringing your own reusable containers.

We will try our very best to adapt our menus for specific dietary requirements. However, details must be emailed at the time of booking to cookery@truroschool.com. Regrettably recipes and menus cannot be adapted on the day.
